The University of Rennes 2 - Haute Bretagne will be hosting this joint session in Rennes from 10 to 12 April 2008; it will focus on "intangible cultural heritage" and how it can be taken into account in regional heritage mediation career planning.
The University of Rennes 2 - Haute Bretagne has been preparing
this diploma for the last two years in cooperation with the
Regional Directorate for Cultural Affairs (DRAC) for Brittany. The
diploma is the product of a joint consultation led at the European
level by the
Alliance of
European Cultural Cities (AVEC, of which the city of Tours is
member), universities in several European countries and the
International Relations Section of the Architecture and Heritage
Department of the French Ministry of Culture.
The course, which the University of Rennes 2 has applied to
have converted into a vocational Master's programme, includes a
joint training session involving the Italian and Spanish
universities preparing the same diploma.

Thursday 10 April 2008
- Sequence 1: "Heritage and Region"
- Sequence 2:
evening public meeting focussing on UNESCO's work in the
area of intangible cultural heritage: a presentation on
the "Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural
Heritage" ratified by France in 2006.
Friday 11 April
- Sequence 3: France's application of the "Convention for the
Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage"
Saturday 12 April
- Sequences on the theme: "Reflections and prospects for the
ICH approach to joint development of heritage projects in the
region"
