The Saumur Urban Area will house a new tourist accommodation site: a 3 star holiday village with 450 beds, which is currently under construction. Located near the Saumur golf course in Saint-Hilaire Saint-Florent. 60% of the 104 apartments delivered in April 2009 have already found a buyer.
VVF Vacances drew up
the typical profile of the potential clientele: individuals
for the most part, at more than 85%, 70% French and 30% European.
The predicted occupation rate is 75% (weighted annual rate) and 92%
in the summer. The average length of stay is 7 days.
The project is in the form of a village, helping as far as
possible to preserve the "rural" and heavily wooded environment of
the region. The architectural choice reflects
the commitment to respect environmental quality and use
traditional materials from Saumur. Two types of construction
will therefore be used: façades in semi-solid conglomerate
with coating and façades in wooden framework with wood strip
covering.
An agreement between Agglo and Bouygues Immobilier, who is
constructing the site for VVF Vacances, was signed back on 18 April
2006. As part of its tourism remit,
the Communauté d'Agglomération Saumur Loire
Développement invested 250,000 euros to fund road and
network building.
