The Loire Anjou Touraine Regional Natural Park is publishing a technical guide entitled “A tuffeau stone building for today and tomorrow”, produced with the help of construction professionals and local officials. It seeks to describe practical solutions for all those who would like to renovate their tuffeau stone home.

This guide contains chapters focusing on four main themes:

  • develop your knowledge of old buildings
  • broach the techniques for restoring old buildings
  • understand the thermal behaviour of the building and how to improve it (how to insulate a wall or floor)
  • grasp the future priorities for renovating buildings (take solar energy on board and make your renovation project a lasting one).

The Park’s architect may also guide households and assist them in their work, possibly directing them towards his partners, for example the Councils of Architecture, Town Planning and the Environment (CAUEs) of Maine-et-Loire and Indre et Loire, the association Alisée and the Local Energy Agency…

The guide can be downloaded from the Park’s website. A paper version can be obtained on request.
