Saumur and Sansanding on the path to cooperation

"Why Sansanding? Quite simply because it's a town on the banks of a river, like Saumur, and of about the same size, although you can't really compare an urban structure and a rural area in quite the same way", explains Jean-Michel Marchand, Mayor of Saumur.
Loire-Niger river-to-river cooperation is really taking shape as each year passes.

Lassana Kouma, the Mayor of Sansanding hopes that "This will lead to an agreement linking our two riverside communities as part of a cooperation based on international solidarity and friendship." It is a message that has been well received by Saumur, which is keen to respond in the context of its decentralised cooperation initiatives.
