Professor Touré of the University of Bamako (Mali) visited the Val de Loire from Friday 28 September to Wednesday 3 October 2007.

He was welcomed by the International Rivers and Heritage Institute and its partners, the Catholic University of the West in Angers and François-Rabelais University in Tours.

His visit provided an opportunity for:
- working sessions on the outline for the proposed post-Master's DESS programme at the University of Bamako (under the education section of the Loire-Niger project within the framework of the European programme, the "ACP-EU Water Facility")
- working sessions on setting up the UNESCO Chair, in particular with the French Commission for UNESCO, the France-UNESCO Cooperation Agreement and the World Heritage Centre.
- presentations of teaching resources by the Institute's partners.
