The 3 July festivities in detail...

  • From Chinon to Montsoreau, various events to break up the 11 mile ride:
    • From Chinon, activities offering a chance to explore the Loire and its environment through works presented by the Touraine Val de Loire CPIE (Centre for Environmental Action).
    • Hamlet of L’Ilette: activities exploring the natural heritage on the banks of the Vienne.
    • Hamlet of Le Carroi Ragueneau: activities exploring wine-making led by the local producers in Beaumont-en-Véron.
    • Campsite in Savigny-en-Véron: concert by the group Santa Macairo Orkestar.
o Stop-over point: refreshments and repairs
Mid-point car park on the Place de l’église in Savigny, 5.5 miles from Montsoreau
  • Hamlet of La Vacherie: activities based on the artistic professions in the Val de Loire, with local painters.
  • Hamlet of La Coue du Pré: activities based on the local produce of the Val de Loire.
 
  • From Saumur to Montsoreau, various events to break up the 9 mile ride:
    • From Saumur, activities offering a chance to explore the Loire based on works introduced by bookseller Bétina Guilhem.
    • Rest area in Dampierre-sur-Loire (rue Gaillarde): activities based on local produce, led by local producers.
    • Souzay: Mid-point car park in the centre of the village, 5 miles from Montsoreau.
    • Hamlet of Le Clos des Murs: Entertainment, story-telling and exploration of the wine-making landscape of the Loire.
    • Chapelle de Parnay: classical music concert with Marie-Claire Vialatte
o Stop-over point: refreshments and repairs
  • Rest area in Turquant: various activities including the giant game created by local residents, the Jeu du Loire.
    Mid-point car park 3 miles from Montsoreau
  • Rue des Moulins in Montsoreau: exploration of the cultural landscape of the Loire and activities based on wine-making led by local producers.
