The Centre region and the Val de Loire Mission accompanied a delegation from the town of Blois, led by Nicolas Perruchot, member of the French National Assembly and Mayor of Blois, from 22 to 28 October 2007, to develop a technical framework for its cooperation with Huê (Vietnam).

The main areas of cooperation to be developed are:
- Lighting the Southern Gate of the imperial city
- Furthering the cultural ties between the cities
- A French-Vietnamese university education workshop on landscape engineering
- A co-development project on river port sites with a focus on eco-tourism
- The strengthening of rules to protect the approaches to the tombs of the Valley of the Kings ( the section of the Perfume River listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site)

During the mission, the mayors of Blois and Huê opened an exhibition of photographs of the town of Blois, presented as part of the Annual General Meeting of the AIMF ( International Association of Francophone Mayors), meeting in plenary session to discuss the following topics: "Good local governance and international finance" and "Cities, heritage and local development". The delegation's participation in these discussions helped to strengthen the solidarity in respect of development between these two royal towns, both of which are listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites.
