The traditional Loire boat, ‘Toue Margot’, is the first boat made for the town of Tours within the framework of a partnership with the association Boutavant, which aims to renew the Loire fleet and the associated skills and know-how.
Under the terms of an agreement signed in 2000 between the association Boutavant and the town of Tours, it has been possible to set up a permanent site for the construction and maintenance of traditional boats, and for educating people about the Loires heritage. In addition, the aquamarine sand quarry in the lower Loire will be preserved and there will be a shuttle service of boats on the Loire during the summer season.
During the 2005 season (mid June-mid-October) you will be able to take a water bus between Tours and Saint-Cyr-sur-Loire, for discovery trips between the Wilson bridge and the Pont de la Motte bridge in Tours. There will also be a link service with Simon Island (lîle Simon).
