Official opening of the Maison du Tourisme Vert in Chambray-lès-Tours

The Maison du Tourisme Vert will seek to:

• shine a spotlight on the wealth of distinctive local features and heritage (farming produce, arts and crafts, artists, architecture and so on) through exhibitions, conferences and sales of local produce (except perishable goods),
• promote water and energy-saving techniques, waste and residue recycling …through an "Expert Panel" (already set up) of partners, including the Chamber of Agriculture, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Energy-Info Centre and CAPEB.

Users of this centre will be owners of gîtes and B&Bs (800 Gîtes de France and 150 Clévacances-labelled holiday rentals in the Indre-et-Loire), tourists (3 million a year in Touraine), farmers and the local and regional population.
