The Heritage Inventory Directorate of the Centre Region will shortly be publishing "BEAUGENCY. L’évolution d’une ville en Val de Loire" (BEAUGENCY. The changing face of a Loire Valley town) with the Lieux Dits publishing house, in the "Cahiers du patrimoine" collection. A subscription has been launched by the publisher to purchase the publication at a special rate, valid until 6th March 2013.
Located on the banks of the Loire between Beauce and Sologne, Beaugency, a medium-sized town, is part of the site inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The fruit of a general cultural heritage inventory operation conducted over the whole of the district, this book offers a synthesis of the urban and architectural development of Beaugency from the Middle Ages to the 20th century, preceded by an explanation of the site’s occupation in earlier periods.
