As the cradle of the Plantagenet dynasty and former capital of the Dukes of Anjou and the "Good King René", the town of Angers is above all the setting for its castle and famous Apocalypse Tapestry. But it is also a town today that showcases a resolutely contemporary architecture in a great many of its neighbourhoods (including Saint-Serge and les Hauts de Saint-Aubin). This guide invites you to come and explore Angers, its history, its museums, its architecture and its landscapes.
After the resounding success of 2012, with over 800,000 cyclists taking to the cycle path, all of the Loire à Vélo stakeholders – institutions and professionals alike – are remaining firmly in the saddle to improve the facilities and services provided to cycling tourists on an ongoing basis.

"Les Chalandoux du 5e vent" will be welcoming the public on Saturday 4th May 2013 from 3 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. on the barge yard at quai Gambetta in Chalonnes-sur-Loire.
Since April 2013, interactive screens have been put up in the great mediaeval room known as the "States-General" room. Five virtual and interactive models present how the château's architecture has evolved over time, from the 13th century mediaeval fortress to its transformation into a historical monument and museum in the 19th century.
