The Royal Abbey of Fontevraud was recently awarded two prizes in recognition of its “sustainable city” programme and the rehabilitation of a part of the site as a hotel.
Château Dunois in Beaugency reopened in mid-October 2014 after having been closed to visitors for 11 years. In 2013, the General Council sold it to Xavier Lelevé, owner of Château de Meung-sur-Loire, since when it has undergone renovation work prior to opening its doors to the public.
Since the beginning of September 2014, the Château de Sully has been home to 43 pieces of furniture on loan from the Mobilier National for at least five years. Benjamin Fendler, manager of the château, requested this loan in 2012 to continue the work initiated 10 years ago to bring the château back to life, with restoration works and investments from the Loiret General Council.
With this international competition, the Young Economic Chamber of Tours and the Centre region Maison de l'Architecture, in partnership with Tour(s)plus, the Ville de Tours and Mission Val de Loire UNESCO World Heritage, wish to emphasise that the art of living, heritage and architectural innovation constitute the triptych of the Centre region. This competition is open to architects under 30 years of age and students at schools of architecture and landscape, who can enter on the website, from 1st September to 31 October.
