Since the beginning of February 2016, thanks to a partnership between the National Monuments Centre and the Mobilier National, visitors to Château d'Azay-le-Rideau have been treated to a ground floor imbued with the atmosphere created by its 19th-century owners, the Biencourt family.
From Monday 8 February to Friday 4 March 2016, a one-of-a-kind and truly out-of-the-ordinary guided tour is on offer at the Royal Château of Blois. At nightfall, when the château closes, visitors are plunged into total darkness and set off to explore it by torchlight.
The former Etablissements Cannelle factory in Ponts-de-Cé, which once produced hooks and other fishing accessories, has had its premises rehabilitated into two clusters: a hoteling and catering cluster (opened in February 2015) and a creation cluster, open since 29 January 2016, which aims to set up a small professional ecosystem encouraging collaborative projects around the creative economy.
Organised by InterLoire along with the Loire Valley Oenotourism Management Committee, the 8th Loire Vineyards’ Tourist Wine-Cellar Network Encounters, held in Angers on 12 January 2016, brought together 130 winegrowers, wine merchants and tourism professionals from the Centre-Loire Valley and Pays-de-la-Loire regions. The “excellence” label rewarding quality of welcome and the wine tourism services was awarded to 21 tourist wine cellars audited in 2015.
Marking the 1,700th anniversary of his birth, Saint Martin of Tours Year has been going on since 10/11 November 2015. It will continue until 4 July 2017. The City of Tours and its partners are putting on a whole programme of events in this respect.
