Built on the model of an 1895 washhouse boat and belonging to the Saumur company “Different Holidays” this highly unusual gite took to the water in early November 2015. It can accommodate up to 6 people and will be anchored on the Loire, alongside the Marronnier quay facing the château.
2015 has been marked by the National Estate of Chambord’s international development. On 19 September 2015, following the two twinning agreements signed with Pekin’s former Summer Palace (2014) and Udaipur’s City Palace (India) at the beginning of this year, Chambord signed a partnership convention with La Venaria Reale in Piedmont.
The "Renaissance de Loire" exhibition space at the Maison de la Loire du Loir-et-Cher won the Top Tourism Award in the Top Family category. This prize was awarded on 5 October 2015 in Blois, before some 300 tourism professionals.
Outside the former ramparts, the Thérel park turret is an ideal spot from which to contemplate the Loire. This Observa’Loire was officially opened on 25 September 2015 after work to renovate and enhance the site, which included: restoration of a retaining wall, renovation of the turret, illumination and installation of benches and an information table.
