Aménagement du territoire et urbanisme Vivre avec le fleuve
Tours Métropole Val de Loire has launched a major initiative to collect innovative ideas for the development of the banks of the Loire from professionals, via an international competition, and from residents of the Métropole who can take part, via an interactive digital platform, by sharing their "Loire desires"...
The Loire is at the intersection between two of the metropolitan project's key goals:
- consolidating the local area's ambition to be a tourist destination
- asserting itself as a Métropole with a high quality of life.
An interactive map and workshops for residents
Since 5 May 2017, the residents of the Métropole have been able to pin, illustrate, vote for, comment on and share their own and others' ideas for developing the banks of the Loire on an interactive map given over to this purpose: www.enviesdeloire.com
In order to raise awareness amongst as many people as possible, around ten workshops led by the ATU (Tours Urban Planning Agency) are planned until 5 September.
A summary of this major public consultation initiative will be drawn up from next autumn and will be accessible to everyone.
An international competition for ideas
Organised by the ATU, this call for applications is intended for professionals and students who are invited to come up with innovative and concrete proposals for the development of 12 identified locations.
Six teams will be chosen (including three from abroad) to define their projects during a workshop between 12 and 16 October.
At the end of the year, the jury, made up of eight elected intermunicipal representatives, four partners (Architects of the Buildings of France, Mission Val de Loire, Centre Val de Loire Region and Indre-et-Loire Départemental Council) and four qualified specialists, will select the winning project with a view to taking the project further in 2018 – and to scheduling when the proposed development will be constructed.
