Since the beginning of February 2016, thanks to a partnership between the National Monuments Centre and the Mobilier National, visitors to Château d'Azay-le-Rideau have been treated to a ground floor imbued with the atmosphere created by its 19th-century owners, the Biencourt family.
France 3’s PAYSAGES series invites viewers to get to know more about the Renaissance through three reports on Château d’Azay-le-Rideau and Château Chambord.
From Monday 8 February to Friday 4 March 2016, a one-of-a-kind and truly out-of-the-ordinary guided tour is on offer at the Royal Château of Blois. At nightfall, when the château closes, visitors are plunged into total darkness and set off to explore it by torchlight.
At the State’s request, via the Loiret DDT, the Orleans conurbation’s Urban Planning Agency has carried out a study of the conurbation’s periurban fringes. The study aims to provide information on peripheral urban growth. By choosing to focus on three very concrete cases, it combines a field approach with information supplied by local actors, inhabitants’ opinions and statistical observations in order to understand the phenomenon.
Under the aegis of the Heritage Foundation, the Interministerial Department of the Archives of France and the “Friends of the Archives of France” society have launched a wide-reaching appeal for donations in order to acquire and restore Château d’Amboise’s ledger book for the National Archives. The manuscript accounts book, which was held during the château’s construction between 1495 and 1496, is of major historical interest.
The call for projects launched by the Centre-Loire Valley DRAC forms part of the partnership initiative bolstered by the signature of new protocols in November 2015, in favour of cultural sponsorship on the part of the Ministry of Culture and Communication and its partners (Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Orders of Notaries, Order of Accountants’ Regional Councils, and National Council of the Bars).
The former Etablissements Cannelle factory in Ponts-de-Cé, which once produced hooks and other fishing accessories, has had its premises rehabilitated into two clusters: a hoteling and catering cluster (opened in February 2015) and a creation cluster, open since 29 January 2016, which aims to set up a small professional ecosystem encouraging collaborative projects around the creative economy.
The Loir-et-Cher’s Maison de la Loire is holding a photo rally to mark its 30th birthday. Participants have to photograph all the Loire treasures on the rally list, giving them an opportunity to get out and about on the river and keep a watchful eye out to (re)discover the river’s natural and cultural heritage. Registration is obligatory, with the deadline set for the end of March 2016.
