The industrial, technological and scientific centre Terre des Sciences has partnered up with the well-known Végépolys competitive cluster to develop links between plant life and tourism with a view to promoting the vegetation sector in the eyes of locals and tourists alike – an economic activity in keeping with a rich history running from King René to the 19th century’s horticulturists and taking in the Loire navy, which linked the Valley to the world via the port of Nantes. Following initial action at Château d'Angers, fresh ideas and projects continue to abound.
The story of the Loire Valley’s bridge-towns’ reconstruction and architecture is a little-known saga. Nonetheless, post-war construction projects (1940-1953) in Loiret and the Loire Valley were outstanding examples of their kind and left their mark on urban planning in France. The “Reconstruction in the Loire Valley (1940-1953) - Loiret, workshop for the city of the future” exhibition is an altogether original way of telling the story for the first time.
On 20 July 2015, Maine-et-Loire’s Council for Architecture, Urban Planning and Environment (CAUE 49) General Assembly confirmed the decision to cut 13 of 19 jobs in the context of a 25% reduction in the Départemental Council’s subsidy for 2016.
The municipality of Gennes boasts a rich natural and historical heritage due to its location in the Loire and Avort Valleys. The book invites you to acquaint yourself with such features of Gennes’ cultural heritage as Joreau pond’s remarkable ecosystem (in the Regional Nature Reserve), major concentration of megalithic and Gallo-Roman monuments, local heritage linked to water; and religious and architectural monuments.
Robert Pezzani’s second book, an exploration of the municipality based around its two main watercourses, the Loire and the Bédoire – as the waters flow and time goes by.
Following thought given to provision of assistance to forms of artistic expression in the public space, the Ministry of Culture and Communication – General Directorate for Artistic Creation (DGCA) requested the pOlau urban arts centre to carry out a national study on the relationships between arts and spatial planning, focusing on “how territories cause creation to evolve” and, inversely, “how creation causes territories to evolve”. A digital version of the Plan Guide is available on request from pOlau urban arts centre.
